A waterproof backpack that protects what's inside, even when all else fails
Five minutes of heavy rain are enough to ruin a phone or soak three days' worth of clothes. Made from reinforced high-density PVC with a roll-top closure, the 40L Waterproof Backpack resists rain, mud, splashes, and snow, and even floats if it falls into the water.
What you get
- 40L waterproof backpack (roll-top) x1
Specifications: 40 litres, tear-resistant reinforced PVC, roll-top closure (3 rolls plus buckle), 30 x 30 x 50 cm, matt yellow, buoyant, UV resistant, padded adjustable straps, maximum recommended load 15 kg.
The backpack is sold separately, without any equipment inside. It was designed for several uses:
- Build your own emergency kit piece by piece
- Complement a Your Survival Bag kit with extra space for personal items (medication, clothing, documents, additional food) that won't fit in the original backpack
- Distribute the weight between two people: the kits are for 2 people but come in one backpack, and a second backpack distributes the load
- Regular sports and outdoor use: kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing, sailing, motorcycling, travel in wet areas
- Protect electronics and documents while travelling
-
For whom it was designed
- Those who want to start assembling their own emergency kit piece by piece
- Those who already have a Your Survival Bag kit and want extra space for a second person or additional items
- Those who practice kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing, sailing, or other water sports
- Those who travel by motorcycle, bicycle, or in humid areas
- Those who need to protect electronics, documents, or dry clothing while traveling
-
Who it was NOT designed for
- If you're looking for a complete emergency solution (backpack plus equipment plus food), see the Essential Complete Kits or Advanced.
- For extended trekking with loads over 15 kg, a technical backpack with a hip belt may be more suitable. This one was optimized for waterproofing and versatility.
FAQs
1. Is it truly waterproof or just water-resistant?
Completely waterproof, as long as the roll-top is correctly closed (minimum 3 rolls plus buckle). We have tested it with temporary submersion and the contents remain dry. However, it is not diving equipment.
2. Does the backpack float even when full?
It floats with a normal load (up to about 10 to 12 kg, depending on the density of the contents). Useful in case of accidental falls into water, short river crossings, or for keeping as a life-saving bag on a boat.
3. Does it have chest or waist straps for carrying heavy loads?
It has adjustable, padded shoulder straps. It has no hip belt or sternum strap. For extended trekking with over 15 kg, a technical backpack is more suitable. For emergency use or regular transport, it is comfortable.
4. How do I properly close the roll-top?
Fill the backpack to about 80% capacity (leave space for rolling). Bring the two top edges together, roll down three times, and fasten the side buckle. Takes 5 seconds.
5. Can I wash the backpack?
Yes. A damp cloth and mild soap are sufficient for most cleaning. It can be hand washed inside with warm water. Avoid washing machine, bleach, and dryer.
6. Can it withstand strong sun and heat without cracking?
Yes. The material is UV and high-temperature resistant. Nevertheless, for long-term storage, we recommend a place without direct and prolonged sun exposure.
7. Can I use it on its own, not just for emergencies?
Clearly. Many customers use the backpack for paddleboarding, kayaking, fishing, motorcycle trips, or long journeys where humidity is a factor. It works as a daypack or extra-resistant luggage.
8. What is the maximum weight it can support?
The backpack easily withstands up to 15 kg of load without compromising the integrity of the material or the straps. Above this, we recommend a technical backpack with a hip belt.
9. Can I return it if it doesn't meet expectations?
Yes, 30 days for returns with tags and in original condition.
10. Does it come with a warranty?
3-year legal warranty against manufacturing defects, as with any consumer good in Portugal.
